Training day for neurorehabilitation specialists - Birmingham, December 2019

Interested in becoming a medico-legal expert?

On 3 December 2019 in Birmingham, NRC Medical Experts are hosting a Training Day on neurorehabilitation for consultants and senior allied health professionals working in, or looking to enter, the medico-legal sector.

This event will provide you with the opportunity to expand your knowledge, find out more about becoming an expert witness, discover more about neurorehabilitation and provide an opportunity for networking with industry peers.

Open to all clinicians and medical experts, the training day will be hosted by keynote speakers Prof. Mike Barnes & Dr Edward Bonikowski, who will discuss:

- Life expectancy: How to structure an estimation, the evidence available, brain injury impairment specific factors and dealing with other factors (smoking, obesity, alcohol consumption, other pathology)
- Post-traumatic epilepsy and dementia risk: Definitions and evidence
- Establishing severity: Focus on mild TBI, the more severe spectrum and some implications
- Impact of ageing: Significant changes in normal ageing, how these affect brain injury impairment and why this is important to compensation
