Medico-Legal Experience

Dr Nour Ubaidullah Hanga is a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine Expert Witness with more than 11 years of NHS experience. He brings his clinical, leadership, and teaching experience to his growing medico-legal practice as a rehabilitation medicine expert witness.

His medico-legal work draws on his experience of neurosurgery, stroke, neurology, and Neurorehabilitation. His national work in post-COVID services, health inequalities and healthcare policy offers further insight into rehabilitation needs, service provision, and long-term patient outcomes.

Clinical Experience

Dr Hanga is a Consultant in Neurorehabilitation at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. He works within the Central England Rehabilitation Unit, delivering specialist Level 1 and Level 2 rehabilitation services and rehabilitation in reach services at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.

He provides clinical leadership across complex specialised rehabilitation pathways and multidisciplinary teams. 

Dr Hanga has completed core surgical training and has undertaken neurosurgical themed training posts in tertiary centres, providing a solid foundation in acute neurological care, surgical principles, and the management of complex neurological injury prior to his specialist focus in rehabilitation medicine. His main interest areas are Neurorehabilitation, Major Trauma rehabilitation and spasticity management. 

He led NHS England’s National Long COVID Health Inequalities Workstream in 2022 and 2023. He was lead author of the national commissioning guidance for post-COVID services, published for Integrated Care Boards in 2023. His wider experience includes clinical leadership, clinical governance, service development, healthcare policy, and consultant-level multidisciplinary team leadership.

He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Warwick, a Master of Science (MSc) in Health Policy from Imperial College London and is a Fellow of the European Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
