Medico-Legal Experience

Debbie Wilson is an experienced Speech & Language Therapy expert witness, demonstrating a robust understanding of the patient journey and rehabilitation needs over time.

Clinical Experience

Ms Wilson has an extensive and diverse background in speech and language therapy, with over a decade of specialist experience supporting individuals with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries.

She currently serves as Clinical Lead at Circle Rehabilitation Birmingham, a specialist inpatient neurorehabilitation unit. This private facility accepts both NHS and case-managed patients, many of whom are undergoing rehabilitation as part of active litigation. Ms Wilson provides advanced clinical input across communication and swallowing needs and plays a key leadership role within the multidisciplinary team.

Since January 2015, she has also worked independently as a Speech and Language Therapist, offering assessment and treatment to both adults and children with complex communication and dysphagia presentations. 

Her experience includes a tenure as an Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Unit Specialist Speech & Language Therapist at Moseley Hall Hospital, Birmingham, from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, she worked as a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist at Hunters Moor NeuroRehabilitation Centre in Birmingham on a rotational contract from 2011 to 2013.

Ms Wilson is a registered clinician for the use of Neuro-Muscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) for dysphagia rehabilitation, employing VitalStim therapy. She is skilled in using Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) as an endoscopist and has been a lead clinician for videofluoroscopy in the NHS setting.
