Medico-Legal Experience

Dedicated to providing timely and comprehensive medico legal assessments, expert witness neuropsychiatrist Dr. Con Cullen pursues this as a full-time role. As a result, he is able to offer clients short waiting times and efficient turnaround times for assessments and reports.

In addition to his extensive clinical experience, Dr Cullen holds Expert Witness Certificates (2012) in Civil, Criminal, and Family Law from Cardiff University Law School and Bond Solon.

Clinical Experience

Dr Cullen is an independent consultant psychiatrist in the fields of general adult psychiatry, liaison and neuropsychiatry, addictions psychiatry with a special interest in forensic psychiatry.

Dr. Cullen holds a Masters in Clinical Neuropsychiatry, which he obtained in 2019, and a Masters in the Clinical and Public Health Aspects of Addictions, earned in 2005. Both of these qualifications were conferred by King’s College London/Institute of Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital in London.

Dr. Cullen’s extensive clinical experience includes serving as a full-time substantive consultant psychiatrist from 2006 to 2017 within the East London NHS Foundation Trust. His practice was situated in an inner-city area known for its high rates of severe and complex mental illness, where he made a significant impact.

During this tenure, he assumed the role of a consultant liaison psychiatrist for five years at Homerton University Hospital. In this capacity, he treated patients living with physical health problems accompanied by concurrent mental illness, including individuals with dementia, other neurodegenerative conditions, and functional neurological disorders such as chronic pain syndromes and medically unexplained symptoms. Dr. Cullen provided valuable neuropsychiatric input at the Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Homerton University Hospital, where he attended to patients with acquired brain injuries.

His professional journey further extends to roles as a consultant in Home Treatment and Assertive Outreach Services. Dr. Cullen has also contributed his expertise as a locum consultant psychiatrist in Addictions Psychiatry within the Georges and South West London NHS Trust.
