Medico-Legal Experience

Ruth Poppleton is a highly experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist with an extensive clinical background supporting children with complex neurological disabilities. She is currently expanding her expertise into medico-legal practice.

Ruth specialises in assessments for children aged 0-18 years, addressing complex neurological disabilities, cerebral palsy, multi-injury trauma, musculoskeletal injuries, orthopaedic injuries, neurorehabilitation, therapeutic rehabilitation, and intellectual disabilities.

Clinical Experience

Ruth works as a Clinical Lead in Children’s Physiotherapy at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, a position she has held since 2024. Prior to this role, she worked as a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist at the same trust from 2023 to 2024. Her experience also includes working at Hereford and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust as a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist from 2021 to 2023, and at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist from 2016 to 2020.

Ruth’s earlier roles include serving as a Paediatric Physiotherapist at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust from 2015 to 2016 and as a Rotational Physiotherapist at the same trust from 2013 to 2015.

In her current role Ruth works with a diverse Paediatric population aged 0-18 presenting with Neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy and traumatic brain injury, Sensory motor conditions such as balance disturbances and dyspraxia and a range of Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic conditions. Ruth completes complex paediatric assessments and delivers rehabilitation sessions in a range of settings including clinics, schools, and within the community.
