Medico-Legal Experience

Dr Jenny Alexanders is a Specialist Neuro-Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Expert Witness with over eight years’ medico-legal experience. She prepares reports for civil and criminal court cases across the UK, including Scotland, and is currently instructed in over 50 cases each year. Her practice is predominantly claimant-focused, with advisory defendant work for healthcare organisations.

Her medico-legal work includes causation, breach of duty, condition and prognosis, quantum, screening reports, personal injury reports and joint statements pursuant to CPR Part 35. She has completed Bond Solon CUBS training, including Court Room Skills, Excellence in Report Writing, Civil Law Procedures and Cross Examination. She is a member of the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and is registered as a Forensic Medical Expert with the National Crime Agency. 

Clinical Experience

Dr Alexanders is a specialist neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 20 years’ clinical experience across hospital, primary care and private practice settings. Her current roles include Specialist Physiotherapist at Nuffield Health, Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy at the University of Hull, Teesside University and the University of Bradford, and Specialist Neuro-Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Expert Witness in independent practice. 

Her previous roles include Band 7 Senior Physiotherapist in NHS Hull, Band 8 Physiotherapist in GP practice, Elite Sports Physiotherapist, University Lecturer and Physiotherapist, Band 6 Physiotherapist in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation, and Band 5 Chartered Physiotherapist in NHS Boston and Lincolnshire. 

Dr Alexanders has a strong academic and research background. She has a PhD in Physiotherapy focused on ACL rehabilitation, an MSc in Physiotherapy, a PGCE and a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. She has a portfolio of more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, has presented at national and international conferences, and holds roles as both a PhD supervisor and examiner.
