Medico-Legal Experience
Mr Khaled Elawady is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register with full licence to practise and recognised trainer status. He brings over three decades of experience in trauma and orthopaedics across the UK and internationally.
He has extensive expertise in both adult and paediatric trauma, elective arthroplasty, neuromuscular conditions and complex fracture management. His broad surgical exposure includes major trauma, limb reconstruction, periprosthetic fractures, hip and knee arthroplasty, paediatric deformity correction and compartment syndrome.
Clinical Experience
Mr Elawady was appointed Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals in November 2024, with specialist interests in arthroplasty and paediatric orthopaedics.
Prior to his substantive consultant post, he held senior post-CCT fellowships in paediatric trauma and orthopaedics at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Brighton. He has also worked as a Locum Consultant in Paediatric Orthopaedics at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Earlier in his career, Mr Elawady held Consultant posts in Saudi Arabia and senior academic and specialist roles in Egypt, where he completed his PhD in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Cairo University. His doctoral research focused on limb reconstruction using the Ilizarov method in congenital tibial conditions.

Mr Elawady is an active academic contributor. He is an Academic Editor and book author in orthopaedics, has published peer-reviewed research including systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and has contributed book chapters on compartment syndrome and trauma-related topics.
He is a GMC-recognised Educational and Clinical Supervisor and serves as an External Examiner for Orthopaedics programmes at The University of Buckingham.
