Medico-Legal Experience
Dr Jonathan Witherick is an experienced Consultant Neurologist with a strong foundation in both clinical and academic neurology. He provides expert opinion in a range of neurological cases, drawing on his extensive experience in diagnosing and managing complex neurological conditions.
He has completed the Bond Solon Excellence in Report Writing course and is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards in expert witness work, ensuring that his reports are evidence-based, balanced, and accessible to legal professionals and the court.
Clinical Experience
Dr Witherick is a Consultant Neurologist at Musgrove Park Hospital, Somerset, where he provides expert assessment and management of a broad range of neurological conditions. His clinical practice covers general neurology, acute neurology, and specialist areas including neuro-ophthalmology and neuromuscular disorders.
He has extensive experience in the investigation and treatment of headache disorders, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, peripheral neuropathies, and functional neurological conditions. As part of his consultant role, Dr Witherick contributes to multidisciplinary case discussions and delivers specialist input for complex inpatient and outpatient cases.
Dr Witherick completed his neurology training within the Severn Deanery and has held consultant posts at Royal United Hospital, Bath, and Bristol Eye Hospital as a neuro-ophthalmology locum consultant. His earlier career included research at the Burden Neurological Institute, where his work focused on neuroinflammation and stem cell therapy in multiple sclerosis.
He combines clinical expertise with academic and teaching commitments, having published and presented internationally on topics including multiple sclerosis, neurophysiology, and muscle disease.
