Medico-Legal Experience

Accredited as a Tier 1 APIL Medical Expert, Dr Julian Harriss demonstrates a deep-rooted commitment to medico legal practice, providing approximately 50 detailed reports annually since 2002.

As a founding member and partner of NRC Medical Experts, Dr Harriss provides medico-legal expertise and reports for courts in cases involving catastrophic neurological injury.

Drawing on decades of international training and experience, Dr Harriss adopts a comprehensive approach to patient care, considering all medical, surgical, and specialist rehabilitation perspectives. His expertise allows him to work with patients across all ages, offering valuable insights into causality, optimal care, and prognosis through his promptly delivered assessments.

This combination of deep-seated knowledge, commitment to his patients, and thorough approach distinguishes Dr Harriss as a leading Expert Witness.

Clinical Experience

Dr Harriss has a distinguished career in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine, spanning both public and private sectors. He has maintained a private practice as a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at The Harley Street Clinic since 2002, serves as the Director of Independent Medical Rehabilitation Assessments (IRMA) and is a partner at NRC Medical Experts.

Dr Harriss acted as a Consultant and Clinical Lead in Rehabilitation Medicine at two major institutions – the Lane Fox Clinic, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital Trusts from 2008 to 2018, and the Frank Cooksey Rehabilitation Unit at King’s College Hospital from 2008 to 2014. His leadership significantly impacted patient care and rehabilitation efforts during these tenures.

D. Harriss was the Medical Director at the Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for rDisabled People in a part-time capacity from 2014 to 2016 and served as Honorary Senior Lecturer in Rehabilitation Medicine at King’s College London from 2010 to 2015.

Special Interests

Specialising in all aspects of neurorehabilitation, Dr Harris has a particular interest in patients affected by traumatic brain injuries, and complex musculoskeletal rehabilitation medicine.

Dr Harriss also extends his practice to paediatric neurorehabilitation, where he closely collaborates with younger patients to enhance their recovery and overall quality of life.

An integral part of his approach is the prescription of multidisciplinary rehabilitation and tailored prognostication, ensuring the most effective treatment paths for his patients.
