Medico-Legal Experience

Chartered Clinical Psychologist Dr Natalie Brunt assesses around 600 clients annually, providing specialist medico-legal psychological reports for Claimant and Defendant lawyers, insurers, and joint instructions. Her expertise includes the psychological aspects of personal injury and medical negligence in both children and adults, covering conditions such as PTSD, Adjustment Disorder, Phobic Disorders, Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and Panic Disorder. Approximately 55% of her work is related to personal injury and 45% to medical negligence.

Dr Brunt also provides cognitive assessments and COP3 Mental Capacity Assessment reports in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, and surrounding areas. Dr Brunt has also served as an Expert Witness in court within her NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) role.

Clinical Experience

At the Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust, where she has worked since October 2008, Dr Brunt works as a Highly Specialised Chartered Clinical Psychologist within the IAPT Team.

She conducts evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for working-age individuals dealing with a variety of psychological difficulties, including PTSD, Depression, Panic Disorder, and anxiety disorders. Her role involves comprehensive risk assessments, advising other professionals on psychological risk, and supervising Clinical Psychologists and non-psychologists.

Dr Brunt also contributes to the development of trainee Clinical Psychologists and provides training to colleagues. She delivers psychological assessments and interventions for complex mental health issues, offers consultation and advice on psychological risk assessment, and participates in training for other healthcare professionals.

From March 2017 to December 2023, Dr Brunt worked in the Memory Assessment and Treatment Service at the same trust. In this role, she performed advanced neuropsychological and psychological assessments to identify the causes of memory impairments, often of an organic nature.
