Webinar | 21 May 2026, 4PM | Register via Zoom
Small delays or missed signs in stroke care can lead to significant and permanent disability, directly affecting liability, causation and quantum. Clinical decision-making within the hyperacute window, including recognition, imaging and treatment eligibility, is often central to how a case is analysed.
This webinar for legal professionals is focused on the full pathway of liability, causation and quantum in stroke cases.
Using real case examples, Dr Cristina Russo explains how clinical evidence is interpreted and how expert opinion supports the court in determining whether earlier intervention would have changed the outcome.
- 1.9M neurons are lost every minute without treatment.
- Your case often turns on what happened in those minutes.
TIME WINDOW – WHY EVERY MINUTE IS A LEGAL EVENT
From symptom onset to imaging and treatment, each stage carries clinical and legal weight.
- 0 minutes: symptom onset
- 60 to 90 minutes: target for brain imaging
- 270 minutes: thrombolysis window closes
Where delays occur, the impact is measurable and often central to liability.
What the session covers
- Real case examples with clinical reasoning
- Ischaemic vs haemorrhagic stroke – why the distinction shapes the case
