NRC Medical Experts will be attending and exhibiting at the British Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (BSPRM) Annual Scientific Conference on 29-30 September 2026 at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh.
The pre-conference workshops will take place at the stadium on 28 September.
This annual event gives our team the chance to meet rehabilitation professionals, learn about current clinical research and discuss developments across Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. The 2026 programme, The Future of Rehabilitation: Adding Life to Years, covers subjects including traumatic brain injury, stroke recovery, rehabilitation technology, spinal injury, limb loss and medico-legal practice.

NRC experts in the pre-conference programme
Two NRC experts will take part in Workshop 6 on the pre-conference day:
Magnetic Resonance Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Research, Clinical and Medico-Legal Practice
Dr Mohamed Sakel is a Consultant in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and Medical Director of the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit. He has more than 30 years of clinical experience, with specialist knowledge of acquired brain injury, complex neurological rehabilitation, spinal cord injury and spasticity management.
Professor Karen Saunders is a neurological physiotherapist working across clinical practice, research and medico-legal work. Her PhD research examined the long-term health effects of traumatic brain injury, and she has presented her work at national and international conferences.
The workshop will examine the use of DTI in traumatic brain injury research, clinical work and medico-legal cases.
